The 99 percent of what?

Looking on to the chaotic scene that is “Occupy Houston”, one only has to wonder, whatever happened to the American Dream. James Truslow Adams described the American Dream this way “life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement”. He went on to say “It is not a dream of motor cars and high wages merely, but a dream of social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable, and be recognized by others for what they are, regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position.”

These lofty ideals are lost on the rabble that call themselves the 99 percent. Rather than stand on their own abilities or achievements, they look to the government to solve their problems, and pay their way in life. They have succumbed to old ways of the Caste systems and social classes. In their apathy, they have become lazy and stupid. It’s not their fault , you see, corporate greed has stolen their opportunities and fortunes.

Their avarice for other peoples money has blinded them from the real problems we face. Through over reaching regulations, the United States Government has been actively sabotaging businesses in every sector. One only has to look to the automotive industry for proof this is true. Through excessive regulation and aggressive CAFE standards, the Government successfully bankrupted two of the three major automotive manufacturers, and took ownership of one outright, only to turn it over to the unions. The same unions that had a hand in taking the business down. in the first place.

The reasons the jobs and manufacturing are going overseas is simple. Our Government has regulated our businesses to the point that it is no longer profitable to do business in the United States.

So wake up Hippies, put down the drumstick and step away from the drum circle. Set the bong aside, and take a few deep breaths of fresh air to clear away the drug filled haze.

Corporations make money. They use that money to create more products, and make more money. To create more product, they hire more employees. As employment increases, these companies have to compete with other companies to gain employees by offering higher wages and benefits. More wages means employees can buy more products. Corporations make more money, and the system system goes on perpetually.

On the other hand, as Government gets bigger, it employs more people. These employees come from companies, who make money and pay taxes. As more people are added to the Government payroll, more taxes must be collected, increasing taxation. Companies become less productive, generating less income and a smaller tax burden. Eventually, there will be more Government employees subsidized by taxes than the Corporations and individuals can pay for with their taxes and the system collapses under it’s own weight.

It’s not rocket science, I’m thinking that some of you protesting college students might need to re-sit economics again, maybe twice! Just my $.02.

“Chuck You”, Schumer

Douche nozzle extraordinaire, Chuck Schumer, again has opened his pie-hole and reached a whole new level of douche-bag’ery. In a response to the press over the Shuttle squabble he replied

“fugheddaboutit”

Gee, I didn’t know that Schumer was an Italian sur-name. He went on to say:

“I say to Houston, when people all around the world, in London and in Tokyo and in Paris, Buenos Aires say ‘Gee, I can’t wait for my trip to Houston,’ then you can have a shuttle.”

Wow, profound!

Any legitimate reasoning to give New York City one of the retired Space Shuttles over the space capital of the world, Houston, Texas is about as absent as the President’s birth certificate. I don’t recall “New York” as being the first words spoken from the Moon, but maybe I’m mistaken…

Honestly, the only “Space” Chuck Schumer really has a grasp on, is the space behind his sphincter, where his huge bobble head is usually lodged. It seems the good Senator is suffering from a little diarrhea of the mouth these days, remember this one from a week or so ago:

“ I always use the word ‘extreme,’ that’s what the caucus instructed me to do the other week”.

Mr. Schumer you should really consider pulling your head out of your ass every now and again, the extra oxygen will do what brain cells you have left some good.

Well if it’s not, it should be, and while we’re at it, throw in some scented candles to accompany the “nudey pics” and the fondling. Where is this happening, at your local airport of course. In spite of our Constitutional guarantees that prohibit unreasonable search and seizure, the TSA has unveiled their new “nudey” X-Ray and  enhanced search techniques. No warrant, no judge, no kidding. For those of you in Lake Jackson, the actual text of the fourth amendment is this:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Coming to an airport new you, the package check. No, not the carry on or checked baggage, your package. If you decline to take your “nudey” X-Ray picture, and you still want to fly, then Paul Blart the mall cop is going to “touch your junk”.  But instead of searching people who might fight the profile of a terrorist, like any sane nation would, we decide to feel up a three year old little girl, her teddy, or Grand Ma in her wheel chair. This is just pathetic, and it really ticks me off. Enough is enough….

Now, I have been known to not be a big fan of the king pin of all Rontards, Ron Paul himself, but I always give credit where credit is due. Congressman Ron Paul introduced legislation today that would make the TSA agents just as culpable of taking nude pictures and feeling people up without their consent. You know,  the same things we would to 5 – 10 years hard time (no pun intended, well maybe). Now I could really get behind that legislation,even if it’s the only meaningful legislation he has come up with in 20 some odd years. (what, I’m still gonna get my dig in there).

I don’t ever do this, but I have some homework for you… write your Congressman and your Senators, and demand they put a stop to the new TSA procedures. Your son or daughter could be the next unwitting victim of Paul Blart the TSA mall cop.

Lessons not learned…

After a resounding defeat in last nights mid-terms elections, it’s still status quo for the left wingers. Losing the House and a filibuster proof Senate, the Democrats still don’t get it….

“Last night’s election was a perfect political storm born out of the understandable frustration felt by the American people in response to high unemployment caused by the worst financial crash since the Great Depression, The record amount of secret money spend by right-wing outside groups turned this political storm into a category 3 hurricane.” – Rep. Chris Van Hollen, head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Wow, really… Hey Chris, just for your information, the Dems out-raised the Republicans this year by almost a quarter billion dollars, it’s public knowledge look it up.

Even with the swing of power, I don’t expect anything different  from the the “left wingers”…

“But I think that the legislation introduced by my counterpart, Mitch McConnell, where you extend everything indefinitely, that’s a road to a $4 trillion addition to the debt that we have, and that won’t happen,” – Harry Reid

Meaning the Senate will fight tooth and nail to keep the Bush tax cuts from being extended…

And of course it’s been two  long years now, but we are still blaming Bush…

And while speaking to a crowd of volunteers in Washington, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said “We’re not going back to failed policies‎ of the past, we are fighting for the middleclass”.

Yep, it’s Bush’s fault… oh wait who spent more in his first two months in office than Bush did  during an entire term? Oh, that was the current sitting Congress and the POTUS, Democrats!

On the bright side, we might not be able to reverse all the bad legislation of the past two years, but we can certainly de-fund it!

Civil discourse?

I thought the “left” was the party of civil discourse. It’s the evil Republicans that are supposed to be the “mean sprited ones”. Enter Joy Behar, “I’d like to see her do this ad in the South Bronx. Come here, bitch! .. Come to New York and do it! … She’s going to hell, this bitch!”. These words came out of Joy Behar’s mouth this week on ABC’s TheView. The “bitch” in questions is none other than Nevada Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle, who is running to take Harry Reid’s seat. It seems Joy took issues with one of Sharron Angle’s ads with took aim at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s support for illegal immigration. Hmm, I guess there a lot of illegals in the Bronx Joy?

Even if Sharron Angle was a ‘bitch”, which she is not, one could consider Joy’s comments to the effect to be nothing more than the “pot calling the kettle black”. To her credit, Sharron sent Joy flowers, to which Joy called her a “bitch” once again. Nice, real classy Joy! (insert Emily Litella clip here) Bitch!

I can’t remember the last time I have watched ABC, but I know when the next time will be… never. Ole Walt Disney must be spinning in his cyrogenic tomb. Yes the company that gives us Mickey Mouse, is the same one that gives us ABC and The View. of the four major networks, you can count on one thing, ABC will be in last place.
